# AlphaBeta Studio > A free, open-source, in-browser type foundry. Draw or import glyphs (SVG/PNG), edit bezier outlines, apply distortions, and export installable OTF, TTF, and WOFF2 fonts. Latin and Persian/Farsi character sets are supported. Projects autosave to the browser and round-trip as portable `.alphabeta.json` files. Key facts for agents: - Everything runs client-side; there is no server API and no account. State lives in the browser (IndexedDB/localStorage). - The portable project format is plain JSON with the extension `.alphabeta.json`. An agent can generate one offline and a user imports it from the landing page (import card, click or drag-and-drop) or the studio actions menu. The format is fully specified in the documents below. - A project file defines its own character set — any Unicode codepoints (Latin, Persian, Japanese, Greek, mixed scripts). The built-in presets place no restriction on imports. - Glyph outlines use absolute path commands (M/L/C/Q/Z) in font units: Y-up, baseline at y=0 — NOT SVG screen coordinates. - Source code: https://github.com/moji-ux/font-studio ## Routes - [Home](/): language cards (16 complete character sets), project-file import, and the community gallery of shared fonts (searchable, sorted by trending/new/views) - [Studio](/studio): glyph grid, donor-font fill, distortions, bezier editor, live preview - [Export](/export): family/style metadata and OTF/TTF/WOFF2 download - `/f/`: a shared font — specimen, metadata, open-in-studio. Created via "copy share link" in the studio; the URL slug is rename-able by its creator and old slugs remain as aliases. Share API for agents: `POST /api/shares` (compressed payload), `GET /api/shares/`, `GET /api/shares//payload`, `GET /api/showcase?q=&sort=trending|new|views` ## Docs - [Full documentation](/llms-full.txt): complete app overview plus the authoritative `.alphabeta.json` project-file specification - [Project-file skill](/skills/alphabeta-project/SKILL.md): agent skill for generating valid importable project files, with field-by-field rules - [Example project file](/skills/alphabeta-project/example.alphabeta.json): minimal valid Japanese project (一, 口) demonstrating arbitrary-Unicode charsets and counter winding - [Language-template skill](/skills/alphabeta-language-templates/SKILL.md): how to build charset templates for any language — per-script-family recipes (Latin diacritics, Cyrillic, Arabic presentation forms, Indic structure, CJK) ## Language templates Ready-to-import charset templates (comprehensive character sets, no drawn glyphs) for 16 languages. Each is also a card on the landing page paired with a bundled default font (Noto subsets + Persian foundry fonts), so picking one starts a project with every glyph filled.
